Modern windows are about simple shapes, larger panes of glass and finishes that suit today’s homes. Whether you’re renovating, extending or updating the look of your house, contemporary windows can give it a cleaner, fresher appearance.

They’re built to perform too. Modern frames and glazing keep more heat in, cut down outside noise and are far more secure than older windows.

We’ve been making windows in Nottinghamshire since 1973, and our range now includes the most energy-efficient windows we’ve made. Every window is built to the exact size of your openings.

We’ll help you choose the right style, colour and glazing for your home, whether you want a subtle update or a completely new look.

Windows Designed for Modern Homes

Contemporary windows usually have a straighter, crisper profile than traditional styles. Our chamfered frames have a clean bevelled edge that sits neatly on newer homes and extensions.

Colour makes a big difference. Anthracite Grey and black work well on modern properties and look especially sharp against render or pale brick. Take a look at our window colours and finishes for the full range.

If you want to push energy efficiency further, our Zero 90 windows use a deep 90mm profile and have a U-value of 0.77 W/m²K. That makes them around 40% more efficient than our standard A-rated windows.

You can also choose triple glazing for extra warmth and quiet, or tilt and turn windows for easy cleaning and ventilation.

Modern window options include:

  • Chamfered frames with clean, straight lines
  • Anthracite Grey, black and other contemporary colours
  • Zero 90 windows with a U-value of 0.77 W/m²K
  • Triple glazing for extra warmth and noise reduction
  • Tilt and turn windows for flexible opening
  • Large fixed panes for more light and wider views
  • A choice of modern handles
  • Decorative and privacy glass

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a window modern?
Modern windows usually have straight, simple profiles, larger panes of glass and contemporary colours such as grey or black. They’re also designed to meet current standards for energy efficiency and security.
What’s your most energy-efficient window?
Our Zero 90 window. It has a U-value of 0.77 W/m²K, which is around 40% more efficient than our standard A-rated windows.
Which colours suit modern windows?
Anthracite Grey and black work well on contemporary homes. White can also look very modern with a chamfered profile.
Can modern windows go on an older house?
Yes, but it’s worth thinking about the overall look. If you’d like to keep some period character, our heritage windows might suit you better. We can talk through both options with you.
Are modern windows secure?
Our windows use modern locking systems and strong frames that are designed to be hard to force open. We’ll talk you through the security options for your chosen style.
